This place is a diamond in the rough.
Amidst all the hustle and bustle, sits a quaint little house,
oozing with French charm.
Saint-Emilion has been our favorite for years,
however, they are a place that gets booked faaaaar in advance.
They are only open for dinner, and contain a few number of tables,
and combine that with the most delicious food ever,
and it's no wonder they get booked out!
A few months ago, they started doing a "bistro menu" on Tuesday & Wednesday nights.
3 courses, $25/person, plus a good bottle of wine to go along with it for ~$15.
How can you beat that?!
Having only read and drooled over the idea, I have always missed the opportunity to reserve us one of these quaint little tables.
..and then....it was like the stars aligned, and we could sneak in right when they opened!
I love the chalk board with the daily specials.
The homey feel of the restaurant, decorated with old collectible cars.
Now, at first, I was a bit apprehensive. I was worried the size of the meals would be bite size.
You know how sometimes those fancy restaurants are.
Plus, even in Europe, everything is sort of a serving size.
Waiting impatiently for some food.
The bread was warm, crispy and after smothering it in butter, it melted in your mouth
As the courses came out, we were both pleasantly surprised...
They were actually rather large!
Best stuffed pork tenderloin I have ever had!
I didn't even finish it, not to worry, fiancé helped me out.
No food went to waste.
Not even this apple tart.
It was perfectly balanced.
Sweet enough, but you could still taste the freshness of the apples.
Drizzled with caramel sauce, which I may have sort of tried to lick off my plate.
Stuffed and happy...we made our way home.
I found this magnum champagne bottle sitting outside,
alas, it was empty. Darn.
If ever in the area, you should definitely check out this place.
Especially on a bistro night. Wallet friendly and delectably satisfying!
